Rhythm Dance Nation – Weekly Afro-Urban Fusion Dance and Dance Fitness Classes

Looking for a fun, energetic way to move, build confidence and try something new? Join Rhythm Dance Nation, a weekly dance class bringing vibrant rhythm and movement to Wakefield city centre.

This high-energy class blends Congolese Ndombolo with hip-hop and commercial choreography, creating a unique Afro-Urban fusion style that is both expressive and accessible. Whether you’ve danced before or you’re completely new, the class is designed to help everyone feel comfortable, learn at their own pace and enjoy the music.

Each session includes a warm-up, movement training and choreography that builds week by week, helping dancers improve rhythm, coordination and confidence while having fun in a welcoming group environment.

Rhythm Dance Nation celebrates rhythm, culture and community through dance. The class draws inspiration from African dance traditions while incorporating modern hip-hop movement, creating a dynamic style that is exciting to learn and perform.

Who can join?
Teenagers and adults of all levels are welcome. No previous dance experience is required — just bring comfortable clothing, trainers and a willingness to move.

When: Tuesdays (Weekly sessions; see link below for timetable and bookings)
Where: The Yard, Wakefield city centre
Cost: £10 per class
Special offer: First-time dancers can attend their first class for £7 using the code RDN26 when booking.

Spaces are limited to keep the class enjoyable and give everyone room to move, so booking in advance is recommended.
